Growing the Movement for Regenerative Communities: How You Can Help and How We Can Win

  • Online - Mountain Time (map)

Under the radar of mainstream media and politics, a deeply hopeful and potentially powerful grassroots movement has been spreading quietly around the world. This movement for regenerative communities — which includes efforts towards local food security, regenerative economies, social-ecological justice, ecological restoration, zero waste, intentional living, and deep democracy — may represent humanity’s best path forward out of our current social, economic, and environmental polycrisis. But what must be done now to help this movement breakthrough into public consciousness and be taken seriously as a viable alternative to the status quo of endless growth, widening inequality, and eventual systems collapse?

This online presentation and Q&A with Don Hall, author of The Regeneration Handbook, is being offered in advance of a longer workshop on “Regenerative Leadership for Social Change” that will be held at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado on Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th. While those considering participating in the workshop are highly encouraged to attend, this session is open to all.

Don Hall has had the good fortune to serve in a variety of leadership roles throughout the international Transition Towns Movement over the past 17 years. He currently serves as Training Coordinator for Transition Network International and is the author of The Regeneration Handbook: Transform Yourself to Transform the World (New Society Publishers, 2024). Don holds a Master’s in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University, a certification in Permaculture Design from the Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute, and lives in Boulder, Colorado.
